Letter from the Editor

As a creative professional and business owner in RL, I have a deep respect and admiration for the hard-working people who make SL so beautiful and enjoyable for the rest of us — the designers, artists, builders, models, entrepreneurs, musicians & djs, hosts & hostesses, event planners, and the list goes on.

The time and dedication required to perfect one’s craft — whether designing an exquisite pair of earrings or helping a couple plan their dream wedding — is far far more than most of us realize.  Those who are creating and selling very high-quality goods and services often receive so very little in return, especially those who are independent and smaller in scale — they lack the infrastructure and resources to market themselves and compete with the “bigger names”.  AvatarStyle aims to give back to the SL community by providing them with well-deserved recognition.

Style is not just about sexy skin, hair and handbags.  It’s about creativity, personal expression, personality and passion.  We will not only spotlight the content creators, artists and business owners — but the avatars who take advantage of and appreciate the very best that Second Life has to offer.
